🔥 Introducing January’s Firefighter of the Month: Engineer Brian De La Cruz 🔥
Engineer Brian De La Cruz has proudly served the West Covina Fire Department since 2012.
In addition to his operational duties as an engineer, he plays an integral role in supporting the department through the acquisition of MSA SCBAs, leading the Fire Explorer Program, and serving as a member of the USAR team.
A product of our own ranks, Engineer De La Cruz began his fire service journey as a West Covina Fire Department Fire Explorer in 2007 reflecting the strength, mentorship, and continuity of our department and union.

This past weekend, the West Covina Firefighters Crown Fire Coach engine proudly participated in the West Covina Christmas Parade. 🎄🚒
History behind the West Covina Firefighters Fire Coach Engine:
In 1964, the Crown Fire Coach Engine, F1354, was acquired by the City of West Covina and placed into service as a frontline fire engine, where it faithfully served the community until 1989. Following more than two decades of active duty, F1354 was transitioned into reserve status and eventually removed from service. During this period, the engine continued to serve the department as a training apparatus for firefighters and the department’s Explorer Program.
In 2010, the Crown Fire Coach engine was sold to a private collector, who meticulously restored it to its original condition, preserving its historical integrity.
In 2017, through the dedicated efforts of the West Covina Firefighters Association, funds were raised to return F1354 to its rightful home, ensuring its legacy would be preserved. ... See MoreSee Less
